Fundraising in 2010

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign

When Worcestershire Royal Hospital was opened in March 2002, breast services were provided through the general surgical team or referred out of the country to Birmingham or Cheltenham. No provision was made on the site for dedicated space to house a specialist breast service. Since then an excellent specialist breast team has been developed and although basic facilities exist to provide a good service, the hospital was not set up to maximise the range and efficiency of services it could provide.

In 2007 a Campaign was initiated by the Consultant Breast Surgeon with the support of a small group of Trustees and Volunteers. Their objective is to raise funds for a dedicated Breast Unit at Worcester Royal hospital for use by women and men across Worcestershire for all breast related issues.

Pershore Town Choir recently presented a cheque for £1500 to the chariity as our contribution towards the campaign
